We had the plants in Botanical Viral Shield tested in a federally contracted lab, beginning with H1N1 and other strains in 2009, then again in 2020 during the pandemic on multiple viral strains and variants. Our privately funded in-vitro testing was shared with those who could make it available to the public, we were informed "we are not interest in a natural product, we are backing the vaccine". We made it available privately in 2020 as Viro Spectrum Shield.
See below third party, peer reviewed data that supports what we have seen over the past thirty years of research, in-vitro testing, volunteer studies, testimonials and real life results.
High levels of nordihydroguaiaretic acid (NDGA), a molecule found in Larrea tridentata has shown the ability to inhibit replication of virus cells. In vitro testing has demonstrated the value of this being used in early stages to lessen the effects of a virus.
"Flavonoids are widely distributed as secondary metabolites produced by plants and play important roles in plant physiology, having a variety of potential biological benefits such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral activity. Different flavonoids have been investigated for their potential antiviral activities and several of them exhibited significant antiviral properties in in vitro and even in vivo studies." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7087220/
"preventing the efficient spread of virus particles from cell to cell"
"The antiviral effect of NDGA and its derivatives has been reported in numerous studies, and the range of evaluated viruses is extensive"

"we believe that plant research can contribute to understanding the relationships between diet and health and to reducing the burden of chronic disease "
“We have identified several mechanisms in plant immunity that have known functions in human diseases,”

"Some of the most promising small plant molecules found to inhibit coronavirus are conjugated with fused ring structures and are classified as polyphenols"
"a variety of medicinal plants have shown promise to treat a number of viral infections, and some of them possess broad-spectrum antiviral activity."
"Most importantly, plant-derived molecules can tackle viruses by acting on different aspects of their infection process. Various studies have identified herbs and natural compounds that can inhibit coronavirus/host protein pathways"
"best characterized antiviral effects of NDGA and its derivates have been against Dengue virus (DENV), Zika virus (ZIKV), Hepatitis C virus (HCV), West Nile virus (WNV), Fort Sherman virus (FSV), Influenza virus (IV), Herpes Simplex-1 virus (HSV-1), and Human Immunodeficiency virus (HIV)"
A Story about 1918 Spanish Flu and Lomatium...
Dr. Ernst Krebs, a physician working near Carson City, Nevada, discovered two striking facts concerning the local Washoe Indians. The first was the fact that, though members of the tribe had become ill with the virus, not one member of the tribe died from influenza or its complications. The second was the fact that the tribe had been using the root of the Lomatium dissectum plant to treat those who contracted the illness. http://epubs.nsla.nv.gov/statepubs/epubs/704695-2012Summer.pdf
A Study about Larrea and Disease...
(Larrea tridentata), The plant is rich in simple bisphenyl lignans and tricyclic lignans known as cyclolignans. These compounds are responsible for many of the pharmacological activities of extracts of plants. Some of these activities, namely antiherpes, antioxidant, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory, were known a century ago. Only recently have further studies revealed other crucial activities of the same plant molecules as powerful agents against human immunodeficiency virus, human papillomavirus, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and symptoms of aging. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4488564/
